Boiled Quail Egg Fry



Key Iron Ingredients: Quail Egg
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
cooking time  14 minutes
Type of Dish: Breakfast, Snacks 
serves : 3 or 4
Quail eggs are a rich source of iron.
Boiled Quail Egg Fry 

Ingredients:

eggs – 12 nos

for masala:

red chilli powder – ½  tspn
coarsely ground black pepper powder – ½  tspn
coarsely ground cumin powder – ½ tspn
salt -  (to taste) ¾  tspn 

oil - for frying
butter (or) ghee (or) gingelly oil  - 1/2 tspn





Method

Place eggs in a pot and add 1/2  tspn. salt.  Pour water to  3/4 of  the pot  and boil them for 10 minutes.  Transfer the eggs into cold water.  Remove the eggshells carefully. 
Heat a non stick pan.   Add oil + butter.   Add all chilli powder,pepper powder, cumin powder and salt saute ½ minute immediately add the quail eggs and fry over low heat,   until they become golden brown.  (about 2 to 3 minutes on each side) 

Note:  while frying the eggs, close the pan with the lid, as it may burst up.  You can also make a bread sandwich with these fried eggs.   For a different variation, to serve it as a snack for the kids.Best paleo breakfast.Rich Iron Recipe.

Muttai vatlappam - Egg Coconut Milk Pudding

Muttai vatlaappam/ Egg with coconut Pudding  is the Traditional sweet in Muslim Marriages , other occasions & Eid Festivals.
Traditional Muslim Marriage Sweet - Muttai vadlaappam/Egg with coconut milk Pudding

My son call this pudding to "Grey Sweet"  and my mother's signature recipe.First Sweet recipe I learn from my Sweet Mother.

Ingredients

Egg - 10 nos
sugar - 350 gram
coconut - 2 cup
cardamom - 3
cashew nuts - 6
ghee 1/2 tspn

for garnishing
Badam ,Cashew, Pomegranate



Method

Grind coconut and extract thick  milk from it . Beat egg to a fluffy texture.
powder the  sugar and add thick coconut milk , egg and   mix it well.
remove the seeds from cardamom and roast and ground it. steam in the cooker and leave  5 vessel and keep the flame in  medium and cook for 15 minutes.
This dish very well goes  with  idiyappam,aappam , dosai etc.

Note : This pudding is very good for hip bones to all .

Boiled Egg Salad Prepared by My son Abdul Hakeem SK


Ingredients


  1. Egg- 2nos
  2. Onion – ½ of 1 (Chopped)
  3. Crushed Whole Black Pepper – ½ tspn
  4. Salt – ¼ tpsn
  5. Fresh Mint Leaves – few (chopped)
  6. Lemon Juice – ½ tspn


Method

  1. In wide vessel add egg, water and salt boil for 10 minutes
  2. Switch off the stove, Strain the hot water from egg.
  3. Transfer the egg into cold water Remove the egg shells carefully, and cut each boiled the egg into 4 pieces.
  4. Arrange the egg in a plate, add chopped onion and mint leaves.
  5. Sprinkle salt and pepper mix well.
  6. Sprinkle  the lemon juice over the egg.
  7. Healthy  Diet Breakfast, serve with Ragi porriage.

Pepper Egg Dosa


Serves: 1 person
cooking time : 5 min

Ingredients

  1. Dosa batter – ¼ cup 
  2. Egg – 1 no
  3. Salt – ¼ tspn
  4. Black pepper powder (coarsely grounded) – ½ tspn
  5. Ghee+oil – 2tspn





Method: 
  1. Heat a non- stick pan and pour the dosa batter spread  all around.
  2. Sprinkle egg, pepper, salt over the dosa.
  3. Spread oil+ghee over the dosa. 
  4. Lower the flame and close with a lid and cook it for about 2 mins. Flip the dosa  and again close it with the lid until cooked well.
  5. very simple and easy pepper egg dosa ready to eat, no need any side dish for this dosa.

Yellow Pumpkin Pancake with Cinnamon



We can make Pancakes for breakfast or for parties.  Kids love to eat these colorful pancakes like Banana Pancake, egg pancake, pineapple pancake, Tutti fruity pancake, coconut pancake, Onion pancake, carrot pancake, veg pancake.Grape Fruit Pancake,Urad Dal Pancake,Brown Rice Banana Pancake. Pancake is our family favorite Breakfast.
I tried this pumpkin pancake .  It came out very well .

Serves : 3
Preparation Time: 8 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients

Whole wheat Flour - 250 gram
Grated pumpkin - 100 gram
Egg – 2 
Cinnamon – ½ tspn
Baking powder – ½ tspn
Salt – ½ tspn
Powdered Sugar – 100 gram
Cardamom pwd – ¼ tspn
Dry ginger pwd – ½ tspn
Method
How to make Pancake?

In a mixie or blender add pumpkin, little water or milk and grind to a  smooth paste.   beat the egg to a fluffy texture and add it to the  pumpkin puree. 


Mix all the dry ingredients together and add egg and pumpkin mix well
Add required amount of water and mix well to a  thick batter.
Make sure that there are no lumps.


Heat a non stick pan.   Pour a small ladle full of batter and spread to have a small thick pancake.
   Cook on low heat.   Add little oil or butter.  



 Carefully, flip or turn over the pancake and cook the other side on low heat to golden brown.  Make sure that it does not get burnt 









Garnish it  with pista flakes
Enjoy.

Palak Omelette with Brown Bread Sandwich






Palak omelet with brown bread sandwich

Past 20 yrs im packing lunch box for my sons, my hubby n me, , most probably we prefer sandwich and rolls only , I prepare many variety of non -  veg and veg sandwich





Ingredients


brown Bread - 4 slices
butter (or) oilve oil - 4 tspn
tomato ketchup - 2 tspn
Palak pepper omelette  - 2 nos 



Method
Prepare palak pepper omelet ( refer recipe here)
Heat a frying pan spread the butter (or) olive oil into bread and fry till it turns golden brown.Spread little ketchup on it.
Place the omelettes in between the butter fried bread ,
Easy and healthy sandwich is ready to eat.
It is suitable for breakfast , evening tiffin or night dinner




Palak Omelette

Chilli pwd – ½ tspn

Salt – ½ tspn

Chopped palak – 3 tbspn

Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tspn

Method

Heat some oil in a  tawa (pan) Pour the egg mixture like an omelette and cook both sides.

Palak Pepper Omelette Chappathi or Rotti Roll






Palak Omelette

Egg – 2 Nos
Pepper pwd – ¾
Chopped onion – 1 tbspn
turmeric  pwd – ¼
Salt – ½ tspn
Chopped palak – 3 tbspn
Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tspn





Method
Beat the egg, add onion, pepper, salt, chilli pwd, gg paste to it.
Now add chopped palak and mix well
Heat some oil in a  tawa (pan) Pour the egg mixture like an omelette and cook both sides.
Roll it with chappathi or Roti



 Very perfect for Breakfast/lunch box/dinner.

Nutella with Banana Pancake Roll/Sandwich


Nutella is one of my son’s favorite .I will send him bread spread with nutella for school twice a week and  I also send him nutella sandwich like nutella with idli, nutella with chappathi, nutella with idiyappam, nutella with dosa. Etc..:D :P



Nutella Banana Pancake Roll

Ingredients

For Pancake
Maida (Plain Flour) – 75 gram
Sugar – 25 gram
Egg – 1
Salt – ¼ pinch
For Roll or sandwich
Pancake – 2 no
Nutella – 2 tbspn
Banana – ½  (big)



Method

Mix all above said pancake Ingredients with little water.
Heat a non stick pan pour the batter and spread round shape dosa 
sprinkle little oil around the dosa.
cook both side getting golden brown.






For pancake sandwich

½ of 1 Chiquita (cut into round shape)
Nuttella – 2 tbspn
Pancake – 2 nos



Spread the nuttella in half of the pan cake
Arrange the bananas over and fold the pancake.
Yummy Banana pancake with Nuttella.



It is a  great breakfast/dinner/and lunch box food  for Kids, as many kids are fond of nutella.
