How to prepare perfect beetroot Halwa







பீட்ரூட் ஹல்வா
 

தேவையான பொருட்கள்
 
Beetroot - 1/2 kg
sugar - 200 gram
sweetened Condensed  Milk - 90 ml
cardamom - 2 nos
cardamom powder - 1/2 tspn
Mixed Nuts - 75 gam
cashew nut - 25 gram
raisins - 10 nos
salt - pinch
ghee - 3 tpsn
butter - 2 tspn


பீட்ரூட் - ஒரு கிலோ
சர்க்கரை - 400 கிராம்
மில்க் மெயிட் - 200 கிராம்
பால் - 200 மில்லி
ஏலம் – முன்று
கிஸ்மிஸ் பழம் – கருப்பு (அ) மஞ்சள்
பாதம் - 50 கிராம் (பொடிக்க)
முந்திரி - 50 கிராம்
(பாதம் - 25 கிராம்
பிஸ்தா - 25 கிராம்
அக்ரூட் - 25 கிராம்)
உப்பு - ஒரு சிட்டிக்கை

Sogo Almond and Mixed Nuts Phirni


Phirni is healthy sweet recipe and easy to prepare for all ocasions. 

Phirni is an Islamic Traditional Sweet recipe which is served with naan, idiyappam,bun,dosai etc..





Key Iron  Ingredients : Almond & nuts
Preparation time: 20 minutes
cooking time : 15 minutes
serves - 6
Sogo Mixed Nuts Phirni







Ingredients

600 ml milk
100 gram sugar
200 ml Sweetened condensed milk
25 gram soji

4 green cardamom

to grind
25 gram Almond
25 gram pistachio
25 gram walnut

50 gram sogo


 tempering
Ghee - 1 tbspn
50 gram cashew nuts 
10 gram raisins





Method

Roast sogo in a ghee and add 3 cup of water and 4 cardamom cook well add milk and cook reduce litter.
Soak all the nuts (Almond,cashew, walnut and pistachio Grind to a smooth paste  and add it to milk, after boiling add soji little by little stir it well without any lumps.
Cook for 5 minutes  add sweetened condensed milk ( milk maid) and sugar mix well.
Finally chop the cashew nuts  roast  in a ghee and add it to phirni.
Serve with Dosa or idiyappam.

Eid Special Mitta Khana




Eid-al-Adha 2014 is also called as the ‘Greater Eid’ and is the second momentous festival of the Muslims. This festival comes immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr and every Muslim is required to fast for 6 days in the month of Shawwal. After this, they have to prepare for their trip to Hajj.On the tenth day of Hajj, they celebrate the festival of sacrifice. Eid-Al-Adha is celebrated in a similar way as Eid-Ul-Fitr, the only difference is that an animal is sacrificed on this day.

 Mitta Khana is the Traditional sweet in Muslim Marriages , other occasions & Eid Festivals.

Ingredients


  1. basmati rice - 1/4 kg
  2. sugar - 1/2 kg
  3. sweetless kowa - 50 gram
  4. dalda - 50 gram
  5. cashew - 50gram
  6. raisins - 50 gram
  7. cinnamon - 1 small piece
  8. clove - 2 nos
  9. yellow or red food colouring - i pinch
  10. gheen - 2 tspn
  11. salt - 1 pinch


Method


  1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes and drain the water completely.
  2. in a wide vessel add 3/4th water and bring to boil , when it starts boiling  add pinch of salt ,yellow food colouring and add the  rice to the boiling water. And cook it for 3/4 and drain it in colander.
  3. in a other pan heat dalda and add Clove & cinnamon ,add cooked rice and toss well then add sugar and cook for 5 minutes 
  4. Now add the  kowa and stir well, cook until sugar melts and absorbs the rice.
  5. In a separate pan heat ghee and fry the nuts and raisins till golden brown, add it to the rice and mix well and serve
  6. It's very well goes with Mutton biriyani, and all biriyani varieties.

Instead of Dalda you can use ghee or butter.
