Misal Pav : Serves : 4

Ingredients
Misal Pav is the popular street food in North India.
This month SNC challenge is Misal Pav - a common street food in Mumbai
Ingredients:
Dried White peas – 150 grams (pattaani paruppu)
For the paste
Oil+ butter – 2 tspn
Chopped Onion – 2 nos
Chopped Tomato – 2 nos
Chopped Green Chilli – 1 no
Chopped Garlic – 2 pod
Chopped Ginger – ½ inch size
Grated Coconut (Ready made) – 3 tbspn
Masala
Chilli pwd – ½ tspn
Coriander pwd – ½ tspn
Garam masala pwd – ½ tspn
Turmeric pwd – ¼ tspn
Dry mango pwd – ½ tspn
For Tempering
Butter + Oil – 2 tspn
Cumin seeds – ½ tspn
For serving & garnishing
Mix Farsan (I used here sev)
Coriander leaves
Chopped onion
Pav bun – 6 to 8 nos
Method
Wash and soak the dried peas (pattaan) over
night or 8 hours . Drain water and add new water,pressure cook for 2 whistes.
Add coconut and
cook for 2 minutes. Let it cool and grind in a mixer fine paste.
Heat a non stick
pan and add oil + butter temper with cumin seeds, keep the low fire, add all the
masala powders.stir well add
needed quantity of water to get gravy consistency.
Now add the ground paste and cook for 3
minutes.
Add the cooked
peas and boil for 3 minutes.
Transfer
the peas gravy in to a bowl
garnishing with coriander leaves,Chopped onion and Sev.
Serve with butter fried pav bun.
Serving
Suggestion:
Take the butter fried bun.
Place the peas gravy between the bun and garnishing with coriander
leaves,chopped onion and sev make a sandwich.
It can be eaten as a breakfast or as an
evening snack with hot Garam masala tea.
In this is recipe I added
the masalas are as per my taste.
