Healthy Diet Podi (Diabetic)









Healthy Diet Podi/Powder

Serves : 2 person


 Ingredients


Dry Ginger Pwd - 1 tbspn 

Pepper Pwd – ½ tspn

Roasted & powderd ,Methi pwd

Curry leaves pwd – 1 tspn

Garlic pwd – ½ tspn

Method
Mix all the above ingredients to prepare the Healthy Diet Podi.
During your Daily Meal add one tea spoon of  the above Diet Podi.

Healthy Diet Pod is a very Good Home-Made Medicine for people who are suffering
from high BP,Heart Problems,Diabetic and Cholesterol patients!
While preparing Chapathies, you may also add one tea spoon of Healthy Diet Podi by using Olive Oil or   gingerly oil. 

You can use the Powder to Fish Curry, Rasam, puli kuzampu, vaththa kuzampu,etc...

Jaleela's Special Idli Podi/ Kollu Idli Podi/Flax seed Idli Podi




Jaleela's Special Idli Podi/ Hoarse gram(Kollu) Idli Podi/Flax seed Idli Podi

1. Horse Gram Idli Powder


Ingredients
Urad dhal - 50 gram
Bengal gram - 50 gram
Horse gram - 25
Whole Red Chilli - 50 gram
peanut - 25 gram
white (or) black sesame seeds - 1 tspn
dry curry leaves - Hand full of
salt - 1/4 spn  - ( as per taste)
Hing - 1/4 tspn (or) small piece




2. Jaleela's Special Idli Podi
Ingredients
Urad dhal - 200 gram
Bengal gram - 200 gram
Whole Red Chilli - 75 gram
peanut - 50 gram
white (or) black sesame seeds - 1 tspn
dry curry leaves - Hand full of
salt - 1 spn  - ( as per taste)
Hing - 1/4 tspn (or) small piece



3. Flax Seed  Idli Powder


Ingredients
Urad dhal - 50 gram
Bengal gram - 50 gram
Flax seed  - 25
Whole Red Chilli - 50 gram
peanut - 25 gram
white (or) black sesame seeds - 1 tspn
dry curry leaves - Hand full of
salt - 1/4 spn  - ( as per taste)
Hing - 1/4 tspn (or) small piece

Ragi Dosai/Adai with Flax Seed Idli podi





 Method:-
Dry Roast above given all the ingredients separate and let it leave cool.
grind coarse  powder  (3/4 th) in a mixie or small dry grinder.
transfer the podi into air tight container.

Serving suggestion:  we can have this podi with Idli, dosa , paruppadai adai, maida dosa, ragi dosa,
I have been  preparing this same measurement idli podi since 1986. I used to eat this with morning breakfast or lunch in my school days.

Dry Ginger Sanuf Podi & Coffee ( for weight loss)



Sukku sompu Podi -  kaapi or tea

It's my mother in law's recipe.
Ingredients 

Dry Ginger (sukku) - 50 gram
Sanuf - 25 gram
Cardamom - 10 nos
Dry Mint  - 1/4 cup (optional)
Palm sugar (or) Palm Jaggery - 10 gram 



Method

Slightly dry roast the sanuf without burn.leave a cool for some times. 
Then add other ingredients and make a fine power. after cool transfer the powder into an air tight container.


Jaleela's Tips

 for digestion problem , stomach upset, gas problem,stomach pain , add this powder 1tsp  or 1/2 and prepare with tea or coffee.
  
 Sukku soombu (sanuf) Coffee 

Ingredients
Water - 250 ml
sugar - 1 tspn
sukku sanuf pwd - 1 tspn
coffee ( or ) Tea Pwd  - 1/4 tspn

Method
Boil the water with sukku sanuf pwd and reduce water 3/4 
add coffee ( or ) Tea Pwd, sugar boil for 2 min  and strain it.



Jaleela's Tips:
Morning regularly  have this pwd with coffee (or) tea it helps to reduce  weight.
we can prepare this coffee with milk or without milk
Instead of jaggery you can use sugar

Home made Rasam Powder /Rasam /Simple & Quick Rasam


Home made Rasam Powder /Rasam






Ingredients
Whole Coriander  - 3 tbspn
thur dhal - 1 tbpsn
whole pepper corn - 1 tbspn
cumin seeds - 2 tsbn
methi seed - 1/4 tspn
turmeric pwd - 1/4 tspn
hing  asofeotida  - 1/4 tspn
dry curry leaves - hand full of
whole red chillies - 4 nos  

Method

Dry roast above said all the ingredients and grind it in mixie corase pwd.
let it cool and tranfer in an air tight container.
It's my special rasam pwd since 25 years I have been preparing rasam powder.(I already shared this recipe in Arusuvai.com & tamilkudumbam.com few years back.
nowadays, I am adding  1 tbspn of horse garm  which helps to weight loss.

For dry curry leaves: wash and drain it and fold it on a newspaper  keep it in the fridge for  two to three days  



Ingredients
Tamarind  - 1 lemon size
Hot water – 2 cup
Tomato – 1 no (cut into 4 pcs)
Homemade Rasam powder – 2 tspn
Salt – to taste
For tempering
Ghee
Mustard seeds – ½ tspn
Green chilli – 1 no
Garlic – 2 pod
Curry leaves – few
Coriander leaves – few

Method

Soak tamarind in a hot water and extract the juice
In a vessel boil tamarind juice, tomato, rasam powder, salt for 5 minutes.
Slightly crush together garlic, curry leaves, green chilli.
Heat separate small pan add ghee and mustard seeds crushed garlic, curry leaves and
green chilli fry for 2 minutes and add it to boiled tamarind juice. Garnishing with coriander leaves.
The flavorful rasam/ rasam soup ready to serve with white (plain) rice.
Rasam sadam is very good for digestion.

Rice Badam Kheer with Watermelon




Rice Badam Kheer(phirni) பீர்னி with Watermelon
There are so many varieties of kheer like soji kheer, pista rice kheer,sogo dates kheer,Rice badam kheer. Badam rice Kheer/Phirini is muslim marriage Traditional Sweet , Served with Naan, Bun, Idiyappam,Dosa...
For the magic mingle event, I have prepared kheer with watermelon. It’s a delicious  new flavour.

Sizzling Tastebuds Kalyani in this month's magic mingle two ingredients are Watermelon and Rice.My Second entry.




 Ingredients

Basmathi Rice – 25 gram
Watermelon juice – 100 ml
Milk – 100 ml
Badam – 10 nos
Cashew – 6 nos
Cardamum – 3
Sugar – 50 gram
Sweetented condensed milk – 90 ml
Pinch of kesari powder – (red food colouring) – 1 pinch

Method

Grind the rice into coarse powder and soak for ½ hour
In hot water soak badam for 5 minutes,drain the water and remove the skin.
Grind badam and rice with 1 cup of water and make it into a coarse paste.
Boil the milk with cardamom, rice and badam paste.
Cook well for 5 to 10 minutes.
In this stage reduce the heat and add watermelon juice,sugar, condensed milk, kesari powder and stir well. Allow this mixture to boil for 2 minutes. After getting a desired thickness turn off the stove.
Roast cashew with little ghee and add it to kheer.
You can serve this kheer with Dosa or small bun.

Watermelon Rice Balls with Jaggery



Sizzling Tastebuds Kalyani in this month's magic mingle two ingredients are Watermelon and Rice.
they are really nice ingredients, we can make plenty of recipes , apart from juice or salad.
This jaggery rice balls is one of our Traditional breakfast , Even in my mother in law's house it is everyone’s favorite tiffin.This is a Unique way of making of this ingredient.

Watermelon Rice Balls with Jaggery





Ingredients

Basmati rice – 1 glass (200 gram)
Thick Watermelon juice – 150 ml
Jaggery – 150 gram
Grated coconut – 1 cup (req qty)
Cardamom – 2 nos
Salt – a pinch


Method

Wash and soak the rice for half an hour after that broke the rice with your hand and strain the water completely.
In a Tea pan add jaggery, 1 cup of water, pinch of salt and make the jaggery syrup and strain.
In a pressure cooker add washed rice, strained jaggery water,watermelon juice, cardamom (watermelon juice 1 cup + jaggery water 1 cup+ water ¼ cup)  and cook without closing the lid for 5 to 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes close the cooker lid and leave three whistle in a medium heat.
(DO NOT KEEP IT IN A HIGH FLAME,BEFORE CLOSING THE LID CHECK WHETHER THERE IS ENOUGH WATER TO GET THE RICE COOKED ELSE ADD SOME EXTRA WATER TO IT)




When the pressure gets released from the cooker transfer the cooked jaggery watermelon rice into a wide bowl or plate and let it cool for two minutes.

Make medium size balls to the cooked watermelon rice with your wet hand, sprinkle the grated coconut and roll it in a circular movement .Your Mouthwatering flavourful watermelon rice is ready to serve.
For more richness If you want you can add little ghee and chopped nuts.
