Basic
Puli Kuzampu
For
Grinding - 1
Tomato
- 2 nos
Onion
– 1 no
For
grinding -2
Tomato
- 1 no
Grated coconut – 3 tbspn or ( 3 cubes)
For
Tempering
Oil
– 2 tbspn
Mustard
seeds, cumin seeds,methi
seeds – each ½ tspn
Garlic
– 5 pod
Curry
leaves – few
Chopped
Onion – 1 no
Green
chilli – 2 nos
Thick
Tamarind pulp – ¼ cup
Red
chili pwd – 1 ½ tspn
Coriander
pwd – 2 tspn
Turmeric
pwd - ¼ tspn
Salt
– to taste
For Garnishing
Coriander leaves
Method
Grind separately above said 1 & 2 smooth paste. Keep aside.
Heat
a wide pan temper the above said ingredients one by one.
Add
the tomato and onion paste stir well.
Add
all masala powders and salt add enough water cook on medium fire for 5 to 7 minutes.
Add
tamarind pulp and cook for 3 minutes.
Add
tomato, coconut paste and cook for 5 minutes.
If
you are Vegetarian add Boiled and cubed
yam, or drumsticks, cooked black
chickpeas or white chickpeas.
If
you are Non vegetarian add Boiled egg or any fish variety.
