Pista Kheer

There are so many varieties of kheer like soji (rava or cream of wheat), rice, Badam (almond), sago, poha. I tried pista kheer.  Its really yummy and colourful.

Pista kheer:


Pista –  to grind  25 gram
Pista –  thinly chopped as flakes -   one tbsp
Milk  - ½  liter 

Cardamom – 2 nos (or) powdered 
Soji – 1 tbsp
Rice – 1 tbsp
Pista essence – one drop
Sugar – 50 gram
Sweetened condensed milk – 1 small tin


Soak the rice for 10 min.
In hot water,  soak  pista for 5 min. Drain and then remove the skin.
Grind pista and rice to a smooth paste.
Boil milk with cardamom.  
Add the ground paste of rice and pista. 
Reduce the heat.
Add soji and stir continuously.
Add pista essence.
After getting the desired  thickness,  turn off the stove and add pista flakes.
Serve with set dosa or small bun.
