Air-Fried Grilled Chicken


Ingredients

  • Chicken: 8 pieces (1.5 kg), cleaned
  • Lemon: 2 (1 for washing, 1 for marination)
  • Salt: 2 tsp (or to taste)
  • Olive Oil: 3 tbsp 
  • Paprika Powder: 1 tsp 
  • Onion Powder: 1 tsp or (blend onion, then sieve)
  • Hung Curd: 4 tbsp
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 4 tsp 
  • Kashmiri Chili Powder: 2 tsp
  • Garlic Powder: 1 tsp
  • Kasuri Methi (dried fenugreek leaves): 1 tsp 
  • Cumin Powder: ½ tsp (roasted)
  • Coriander Powder: ½ tsp (roasted)
  • Garam Masala: ¼ tsp 
  • Red Food Color (optional): ¼ tsp (a pinch)
  • Chili Flakes: ½ tsp
  • Nutmeg Powder: ½ tsp
  • Curry Leaves: optional 

Method

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly using 1 lemon juice and 1 tsp of salt. Rinse and pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Make the Marinade:

    • In a large bowl, mix together hung curd, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, olive oil, paprika powder, onion powder, Kashmiri chili powder, garlic powder, kasuri methi, cumin powder,  coriander powder, garam masala, nutmeg powder, red food color (if using). Add chili flakes, curry leaves, and salt to taste.
  3. Marinate the Chicken:

    • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes.
  5. Air Fry the Chicken:

    • Place the marinated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket.
    • Air fry for 10 minutes on each side. After flipping the chicken, spray a little oil on the surface for an even golden brown finish.
  6. Serve:

    • Remove the chicken from the air fryer, and serve hot with a side of your favorite dipping sauce or salad.
